The Americana arrives from March 5 to 10

This year the Americana is celebrated from Tuesday, March 5 until Sunday, March 10 and will have as headquarters, the usual Girona Cinemas and as novelties of this year also the Zumzeig Cinema. In addition, the opening will be in the Phenomena Hall and we will have a retrospective of the Zellner brothers in the Filmoteca de Cataluña.

The program includes a total of 32 feature films and 39 short films, the latter divided into 4 different sessions. As for the lengths, the usual sections: TOPS, NEXT, DOCS, Movistar Sessions, Retrospective and The Lost Sessions, as a novelty this year. In this new section will be screened lost or forgotten titles that deserve to be recovered.

As always, the shorts are also very important for our festival and, once again, we will have the characteristics of Shorts sessions.

In addition to screenings of shorts and films, parallel activities are offered for all audiences: colloquiums, seminars, sessions for schools and institutes and workshops for children, among many other activities.

Americana was born in 2014 through the motivation of a group of friends exhibited a selection of the best American independent films.

Its main objective is that American productions that do not usually reach the halls of our country, can get it. These are outstanding and current independent films from the United States.

Finally, we remind you that the prices for the sessions will be € 6 for the individual entry, € 30 for the 6 tickets, € 3 for the Shorts session and € 5 for the usual session of America Kids, where children can learn from movies with specialized workshop.
